Dave Matthews Band Tickets - Gearing Up For A Hiatus From The Road

It seems hard to fathom that the 2011 concert schedule will be missing one very important act. The Dave Matthews Band has practically been a staple on the concert circuit during the summer months, a tradition that was started way back in the 1990s when they first got their start in the industry. Next year, though, the jam band is putting up their feet for a much-needed vacation.

Before Dave and the gang hang up their guitars, however, they are offering fans one last chance to see a live show. The group is touring throughout the month of November and Dave will join with longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds in December for acoustic shows in both Seattle and Las Vegas. After that, you will have to rely on your extensive collection of albums to satisfy your DMB cravings; that is, until they hit the road again in 2012. Tell your friends and purchase your own pair of Dave Matthews Band tickets as soon as possible from StubHub.

The past year has been busy for the Dave Matthews Band. In June 2009 they released their eighth studio album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, and have been on the road promoting it ever since. Hailed by some music critics as their greatest effort in several years, Big Whiskey earned them a nod for Album of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards and signaled a fresh new sound from the band that has been consistently churning out jam-rock beats over the past decade.

The road hasn't always been easy for the Charlottesville-based group, especially in 2008 when the band members were confronted with the sudden and unexpected death of one of their own. Saxophonist LeRoi Moore died that summer after sustaining injuries from an ATV accident. His bandmates, who were eagerly anticipating the release of Big Whiskey, were dealt a sharp blow. But rather than keep things somber, the band plowed forward and released their new album in Moore's honor. The night he died, the group was scheduled to perform. Rather than shut down the show, Matthews told fans, "There's no place I'd rather be than here with you guys right now."

The Dave Matthews Band got their start in the early 1990s. Their full-length debut album arrived in 1994, called Under the Table and Dreaming and immediately caught the attention of fans around the country. The singles "Ants Marching" and "Satellite" are still staple songs at the band's live performances and their early tours are part of what helped propel them to success, especially their stints at college campuses. Subsequent albums fared just as well, including Crash, Before These Crowded Streets and Everyday. Of course it wasn't just their studio albums that fared well on the charts. DMB also found that their live albums were big hits among fans, including Live at Red Rocks and Live at Luther College.

Make sure to get your dose of DMB this year and join in on some of your favorite tracks from their extensive catalog.
