Unsigned bands

in Band

It has always difficult for unsigned bands to get noticed, and although there are of lot of things that are more positive in the music industry today, it is still very hard for them. In the 1960's, unlike today, there were so many places for unsigned bands to play. However, when bands did eventually get signed they would be taken advantage of by some unscrupulous manager or record label. Today, of course, unsigned bands have the advantage of the internet, Facebook, viral campaigns, cheaper recording equipment etc.

However, there are still many pitfalls for unsigned bands and any help they can get is always appreciated. With the rise of all the TV talent shows, and the charts being swamped by all their acts there is not a lot of room for new bands, so the number of unsigned bands seems to be growing rather than shrinking. You cannot imagine the amount of unheard talent in all of the unsigned bands, which really deserve a chance to get a recording contract.

It's for this reason that I was really glad to discover a website for unsigned bands called www.banditnewsletter.com. They are a great resource for all of the unsigned bands out there that need help in all sorts of ways. They can really point you in the right direction, so that you are not blindly sending your demos off to record companies that will never listen to them. You've heard of the expression, it's not what you know it's who you know. Well it is certainly applicable to the music industry and their website can point all the unsigned bands that subscribe to them in the right direction. So if you are in a band I highly recommend that you give them a try and begin your road to super stardom. However, there are still many pitfalls for unsigned bands and any help they can get is always appreciated.
